Australia’s newest marine website What’s On Water (WOW) has joined forces with Tetra Media (sail-world.com, powerboat-world.com, marinebusinessnews.com) to create the world’s most comprehensive online boating resource.

Offering the latest boating news along with fast-loading video boat tests, marine electronics ‘how-tos’, marine safety education and more, the alliance between the online media businesses will provide consumers with a complete online boating portal.

WOW co-founder Rick Huckstepp said with the widespread use of broadband internet throughout Australia consumers were “well-ready” for the next wave in marine media.

“According to the latest Australian Social Trends report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the number of households with access to the internet has soared from 16 per cent in 1998 to 64 per cent in 2006-07,” Mr Huckstepp said.

“Along with WOW partners Chris Ryan and Mike Baber, we’ve made the most of this fact to stream seamless, high-quality video to consumers through WOW and now the highly-indexed and visited Tetra Media sites.”

Tests on vessels from kayaks, PWCs and trailer boats to 100ft-plus luxury cruisers and beyond will be available through the websites as informative video, all easily accessible through content links and simple-to-navigate menus.

Most of this information will also be available in downloadable PDF format, so consumers can print and compare the hard copy when searching the market place for their next purchase.

Tetra Media’s Rob Kothe said he was looking forward to the addition of streaming video on his consumer websites – sail-world.com and powerboat-world.com.

“Rick is very well-known throughout the boating industry and we’re excited about the content WOW will be providing,” Mr Kothe said.

“Rick’s boating, fishing and marine electronics experience – evidenced through his many years writing for national and international publications and production of informative ‘how to’ DVDs – will be great for the large number of consumers who regularly visit our sites.”

The Allison Bass Master 133

Looking for exceptional stability in a boat small enough to tow behind a small four cylinder car? Worried about the soaring fuel prices that seem to have no ceiling? Need a base boat to start from without all the ‘bling’ that you can add later as you wish? Well, What’s on Water thinks they’ve found one in Allison’s 133 Bass Master. It fills most of those requirements and then some!

Allison Boats are well known in the industry as genuine honest fishing and recreational platforms and this theme has held through to this model which exhibits excellent finish with a practical layout from which one may further build their custom craft. The hull design gives it maximum planing ability with minimum horsepower and the design of the aft of the outer hulls makes it behave like a monohull when turning but with the stability of a cat when settled in the water.

Check out the performance in the attached video and get further information and the hard copy at the What’s On Water website, the link for which is right here on this page.

Game & Luxury Boats
Maritimo Skylounge 48

Class, style, opulence and practicality: would you expect anything less from Bill Barry-Cotter? Of course not! Obviously What’s On Water wasn’t disappointed with their Skylounge 48 model, named as such for the spacious bridge where those on board may enjoy the company of the skipper in closed quarters whilst underway.

The quarters below are nothing short of outstanding with full dressing using the best of accessories. A practical saloon and galley also makes for a great communion area and there is ample room in the cockpit to undertake some serious game fishing.
