It says something about the New Ocean Yachts 68 Enclosed Flybridge that well-heeled visitors were queuing up to inspect it at Sydney International Boat Show, where it made its debut.

These are people used to going straight to the front of the line at airport check-ins and restaurants. They wait for no man, let alone a boat.

The 68-footer sets a new benchmark for those who appreciate the luxury and certainly didn’t disappoint. You get a sense of quality and craftsmanship the moment you step aboard, with European taste seemingly dripping from its pores.

Hopefully the accompanying pictures do it justice.

Starting aft, there’s a teak-lined hydraulic swim platform accompanying a spacious tender garage. The cockpit boasts a gloss-varnished teak table with surrounding padded lounge and timber chairs to seat 10 people.

Elsewhere in the saloon is an ultra-leather lounge and a six-seat dining table, both of which are in view of the mechanical-lift 40-inch flat screen TV.

Owners Bruce and Julie Scott say the purchase experience matched the quality of the boat.

‘The level of customisation they allowed us was fantastic, so we could have the boat we really wanted,’ they said. ‘We are so impressed with how much boat you get for the investment.’

The New Ocean Yachts 68 Enclosed Flybridge will be based on Sydney Harbour.
